Matt has been involved in angel and venture investing personally for ten years and as an advisor for over 25 years. He is an LP in several angel-driven funds, including SeaChange, VentureUs, Ensemble, and First Row, in addition to being a direct investor in several companies. Matt has served as a board observer and advisory board member in angel and venture-backed companies, including one that had a successful exit in early 2023. His 'day job' is as a CPA and member of the team leading Clark Nuber's practice focused on angel and venture-backed enterprises in AI, software and game development, telecom, product innovation, cryptocurrency, and health sciences. In addition, Matt serves on faculty at University of Washington teaching graduate and undergrad entrepreneurial finance. Matt is on the boards of the Technology Alliance and Ada Developers Academy and the audit committee of Gesa Credit Union.
